The three iPads donated to the library by the Lynnfield Public Library Foundation are now installed and ready for use.
According to the LPLF website, these iPad stations “give patrons the chance to research resources throughout the building” without having to return to the computer stations near the service desk to perform a database search.
The iPads are located on the mezzanine, in the downstairs fiction room, and outside of the genealogy room.
This gift is part of LPLF’s 250 for 250 campaign. According to its website, “In honor of the 250th anniversary of our country, the Lynnfield Public Library Foundation is launching 250 for 250: a year-long campaign to raise significant funds that will enhance the user experience, add value to the library for patrons, and continue to build an endowment to sustain and support library needs… It is our hope that 250 residents will donate at least $250 to join ‘The 250 Club’ and help us reach our fundraising goal of $65,000.”
Other projects LPLF hopes to achieve as part of or as a result of the 250 for 250 campaign include giving the Children’s Room “a makeover,” adding charging stations for cell-phones and outside lockers for after-hours pickup of library materials. The Foundation also wants to “underwrite projects that could deliver drinking water and more comfortable seating.”
