Lynnfield Art Guild presents a Paper Pulp Demo by Meg Black

April 15, 2025 by For the Item

The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) is presenting a Paper Pulp Demonstration by Meg Black on Thursday, April 17th, from 7-8:30 pm via Zoom. You can check out her beautiful artwork at megblack.com/

This demonstration is open to all members via invitation; prospective members are encouraged to join the Guild at lynnfieldarts.org to take advantage of this and upcoming special artistic opportunities, including free attendance at all live and virtual demonstrations, and the ability to display art, network with other artists and show pieces in our popular exhibits.

“I grew up in the 1970s, a time when kids entertained themselves by spending hours outside, riding bikes, playing pick-up games, and swimming in open streams,” Black said. “Spending so much time outside gave me an appreciation for nature: the emotional pull nature has on us, the organic shapes, splashes of colors, earthy smells, and a bounty of textures; the magic of it all. It is no wonder my paintings imitate the experience of being outside by recapturing the colors and textures of nature. I compose my paintings so the viewer is able to wander into the distance and experience nature for themselves. In this way, they complete the story as they discover what lies beneath the painting’s surface.”

“We all have stories to tell. Stories about our lives, our favorite places to visit, and memories we cherish,” she continued. “Living with original art that celebrates nature adds to our story as it reminds us of these experiences. Including original art in our private space lets us shut out the world for a while as we recapture the emotion of nature for ourselves.

“I help my collectors tell their own story through commissioning an artwork of their favorite place or by choosing a nature-inspired original work in my available art gallery. How can I help you tell your story? Contact me, and let’s chat.”

Mark your calendars for the Spring Festival and Judged Art Show on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Meeting House and on the Lynnfield Common. In addition to our fine art show and sale, enjoy our bake sale, raffles, vendors and great entertainment on the Common.

Membership in the Lynnfield Art Guild is open to artisans, photographers and artists of all levels, with student, supporting and family memberships available.
