SALEM — The YMCA of Metro North hosted its 39th Annual Fore the Kids Golf Tournament at Kernwood Country Club in Salem on June 24. North Shore Bank was the lead sponsor of the tournament, which brought together 34 teams to support the YMCA youth programs, including summer camps, Y Academy educational programs, and free memberships for 7th and 8th grade students in the City of Lynn.
“At North Shore Bank, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Kevin M. Tierney, Sr., CEO of North Shore Bank. “The YMCA of Metro North plays a critical role in promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting youth development, a safe environment and fostering a sense of community. We are honored to be part of their mission of inclusion and to support the wellbeing of our neighbors, especially the children.”
The event is one of the YMCA of Metro North’s biggest fundraisers of the year and brought in more than $95,000 to support the nonprofit’s youth programs around the region.
“The success of this golf tournament and other fundraisers is a testament to the unwavering support of our community. Your participation reaffirms our mission and provides us with the resources to continually develop and enhance programs that support youth and teen development in our region,” said Kathleen Walsh, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North.
The YMCA of Metro North provides over $2 million in financial assistance to ensure that its memberships, programs, and services are accessible to everyone in their region.
Their next major fundraising event, the Where in the World annual celebration, will take place on September 26, 2024, at the Torigian Family YMCA. The event will also honor Kevin Tierney and North Shore Bank with the Community Compass Award for decades of outstanding leadership and positive impact on our region.
