The Annual Gala to benefit The Angel Fund for ALS Research, an independent nonprofit organization that supports ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) research at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, will be held at the Medical School on Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning with tours of the laboratory in the new NERB research building at 6 p.m.
The tours will allow attendees to see where cutting-edge research takes place. Researchers will be on hand to explain their projects.
In addition to the tours, the evening will include a silent auction, dinner, and remarks from Dr. Robert H. Brown Jr. of UMass Chan Medical School and Richard Kennedy, president of The Angel Fund for ALS Research. The event will honor individuals and organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to The Angel Fund.
The cost of the gala is $125 per person and includes dinner, which begins at 7 p.m. Sponsors to date include Nigro, Pettepit and Lucas; Lucia Lighting; Solimine Funeral Homes; and The Savings Bank.
Corporate sponsorships are available for $5,000 (Gold Sponsorship), $2,500 (Silver Sponsorship), and $1,000 (Bronze Sponsorship).
