The Lynnfield 9-year-old All-Star team (11-1) punched its ticket to the Wyoma Sawyer/Walsh 9-year-old Tournament championship game with an 11-5 win over Saugus Monday night at Glen Meadow Park in Lynnfield.
Lynnfield will play Peabody West for all the marbles Thursday night at Reinfuss Field in Lynn at 7 p.m.
Justin Yunes and Matthew Shields had monster games with Yunes (2-for-2, double, 2 R) knocking in four runs and Shields (2-for-3, 2 R) knocking in two.
Will O’Brien (2-for-4, R, RBI) also had two hits. Bruno Palumbo (2 R) and Pauly DeLeo (2 R) had one hit apiece, while Logan Garcia and Bryce Pagos scored one run each. Charlie O’Hara helped the cause with one RBI.
Palumbo (2 ⅔ IP, 0 H, 2 R, 4 K), Yunes (2 ⅔ IP, 2 R, 5 H, 3 K) and Declan Morrison (⅔ IP) combined for the win.
