May 13, 2025 by Joey Barrett

Lynnfield’s boys track and field team competed in Saturday’s Henry Sheldon Invitational at Triton Regional High School. The Pioneers scored 58 points, which were good for fifth overall.

Nick Kelter broke a meet record in the triple jump with a leap of 44-4. For his high-flying efforts, Kelter was voted Field Event Athlete of the Meet by participating head coaches.

Eli Mendese secured a first-place finish with a 6-2 high jump.

Days earlier, on Wednesday, May 7, the boys (1-2) lost a close one to Amesbury (81-64), but received some stellar performances. Kelter broke a school record in triple jump with a leap of 44-2, while Mendese was a triple-winner in shot put, javelin, and high jump. Dillon Reilly qualified for states in the 200m, while also being part of the first-place 4×100 relay team.

The boys close out their regular season with Wednesday’s home meet against Ipswich. The meet begins at 4 p.m., but seniors will be honored ahead of time.
