December 10, 2024 by For The Weekly News

Lynnfield resident Danielle Berdahn, owner of the celebrated Mediterranean restaurant Yella on the Water, has been recognized with the Women Entrepreneurs Who Lift Up Massachusetts award by the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE). This prestigious honor, presented at the Massachusetts State House on November 19, celebrates exceptional women business owners whose leadership and innovation uplift the Commonwealth’s economy and communities.

The award acknowledges trailblazing entrepreneurs who drive job creation, foster opportunities, and contribute to Massachusetts’ reputation as a hub for business and culture. Danielle Berdahn’s commitment to culinary innovation, community engagement, and local partnerships perfectly embodies this vision.

“It’s an honor to be recognized alongside so many inspiring women who are making a difference in our state,” said Danielle. “We strive not only to deliver exceptional dining experiences but also to create meaningful connections with our community.”

Danielle’s entrepreneurial journey began with Yella Grille in Andover and expanded to Gloucester with Yella on the Water, a globally inspired Mediterranean restaurant offering fresh, locally sourced dishes in a picturesque waterfront setting. Under her leadership, Yella has earned numerous accolades as a culinary destination, blending innovative flavors with a commitment to local sourcing and community.

“Danielle Berdahn represents the best of Massachusetts’ entrepreneurial spirit,” said House Minority Leader Bradley Jones. “Her vision, resilience, and contributions to our economy are a source of pride not only for the North Shore but for the entire Commonwealth.”

Danielle has demonstrated resilience in overcoming significant challenges, including the Merrimack Valley gas explosions and the COVID-19 pandemic. Through these trials, she championed small business recovery while fostering opportunities for local suppliers, and her team. Her efforts underscore the impact of women entrepreneurs in revitalizing and strengthening communities.

To experience Danielle’s award-winning vision firsthand, visit Yella on the Water at 25 Western Avenue, Gloucester, MA.
