The SBLI Rink, whose presenting sponsor is SBLI Life Insurance, is hosting a special night where people can hop on the ice to benefit Youth Villages.
The event is on Sunday and will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A part of every skate ticket will go directly to supporting Youth Villages’ mission.
The organization helps children and families in foster care live successful, independent lives through programs like LifeSet and Intercept.
LifeSet helps young adults who have aged out of foster care transition to successful adulthood, while Intercept strengthens families to prevent or reduce the need for foster care.
Youth Villages has been committed to this work for more than 35 years with the values of making every decision in the best interest of the child, keeping children with their families when possible, providing a safe place, helping children and families live successful lives, valuing staff, providing the highest level of service, improving to achieve excellence, developing innovative programs, and following their mission and values.
The Rink at MarketStreet will be open through Feb. 22, and admission is $12, while children under 3 skate for free. Skate rentals are $6, and a skate assist rental is $10. Skaters may bring their own skates.
