Title: Confidential Administrative Support – Fire Chief
The Confidential Administrative Support position at the Lynnfield Fire Department involves performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, data processing, answering phones, assisting the public, and cashiering for a major town department. Confidentiality is crucial, as this position routinely handles highly sensitive information including Protected Health Information (PHI) as the liaison with the department’s EMS billing company and insurance providers. JOB OPPORTUNITY
Title: Full-Time Public Safety Dispatcher
The Lynnfield Police Department seeks qualified applicants for a full-time public safety dispatcher. Public safety dispatchers for the Town of Lynnfield dispatch Police and Fire, operate out of the Police station and under the supervision of the Police. Responsibilities include taking 911 calls, performing Emergency Medical Dispatch transfers, general telephone duties, and dispatching Police and Fire responders via the radio system. Dispatchers are also responsible for logging activities through computer-aided dispatch systems and updating other dispatch computer systems.
Dispatchers are eligible for a starting salary between $28-34/hour depending on experience.
The Lynnfield Police Department will provide training for an applicant who does not have certifications in telecommunications or 911 operations.
Candidates must successfully complete an oral board interview, drug and psychological screening, as well as a background check.

Title: Town Engineer
The Town of Lynnfield Department of Public Works is seeking applications for a Town Engineer, a 40-hour per week non-union management position.
Manages daily operations of all engineering activities within the Department including prioritizing, staffing, assigning and directing the work of vendors, consultants and contractors; all involving technically oriented and highly specialized subject matter. Serves as liaison with certain State and Federal agencies and various Town boards, coordinates roadway, drainage and other improvement programs, etc.
Massachusetts Professional Engineer Registration required; bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field with 6-10 years’ experience in some or all the following areas: municipal engineering and roadway design and construction inspection; design and construction of water, sewer and drainage utilities; working knowledge of traffic engineering principals, site design for private developments, and demonstrated experience as a manager of engineering staff and projects. Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and the materials, methods, practices and equipment used in the design, construction, maintenance and repair of roadways, and water, sewer, septic and drain systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, and of AutoCAD and GIS Systems. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Knowledge in public procurement policy; procurement certificate classes preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in providing customer service to co-workers and residents with tact, courtesy, sensitivity and discretion.

Title: Assistant Conservation Planner
The Town of Lynnfield seeks a full-time, benefitted Assistant Conservation Planner, reporting directly to the Director of Planning & Conservation. This position offers a work environment that favors independent effort, exciting project initiatives and collaboration with accomplished colleagues. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing inspectional field support including site visits, maintenance of related documentation and databases, and assistance with review of applications under the Wetlands Protection Act, Lynnfield Wetlands Protection Bylaw, Subdivisions and Lynnfield Tree Preservation Bylaw.

The Driver: Motor Equipment Operator performs skilled and semi-skills tasks and manual labor throughout all Department of Public Works operations. They operate cars, trucks, equipment, power tools and equipment, and other miscellaneous tools and equipment. The work includes the installation, maintenance, repairs, and operation of roadway and drainage systems; collection of solid waste, recycling and metal goods; maintenance and care of parks, open space grounds, passive and recreational playing fields, cemetery and other maintenance of municipal building grounds.
