YMCA Livestrong race hits full capacity

November 11, 2025 by For The Weekly News

The Torigian Family YMCA is thrilled to announce that registration for the Livestrong at the Y Half Marathon & 5K, set for Nov. 22, at Lt. Ross Memorial Park (36 Johnson St., Peabody, MA), has completely sold out.

To show support with custom lawn signs or donations visit Livestrong at the Y 5K & Half Marathon online.

We want to ensure neighbors and anyone traveling through the area are prepared for race-day activity along the course. The half-marathon begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:40 a.m. There will be periodic road closures and increased pedestrian and runner activity along the route throughout the morning.

Official maps for both the half-marathon and 5K routes are available for download on the race website. Residents are encouraged to review them and plan accordingly for street closures.

This year marks the return of the half-marathon option for the first time since the pandemic, reflecting renewed community enthusiasm for supporting the race. All proceeds benefit the Livestrong at the Y program—a 12-week wellness initiative that supports cancer survivors by helping them regain strength, balance, and confidence after treatment.

“Seeing this race nearly sell out and so many runners come together for our Livestrong community is incredibly inspiring. Thanks to our neighbors for helping us make the route safe and welcoming, and to the Peabody Police Department for their partnership in ensuring a smooth and safe race day for everyone. When we cross that finish line, we are celebrating a community that truly shows up for one another,” said Cara Green, executive director of the Torigian Family YMCA.

We appreciate the support of residents who live, work, or drive near the route, and ask for patience on race morning as we host this important community event.
