Food drive aims to combat food insecurity

November 11, 2025 by For The Weekly News

We are excited to announce the “Lynnfield Gives Back” food drive, organized in partnership with Lynnfield for Love, the Town of Lynnfield, and Lynnfield Rotary. This initiative aims to support our neighbors in need during the upcoming holiday season.

The food drive will commence on Nov. 10 and conclude on Dec. 17. All collected donations will be delivered to Good Hope Inc., located at Calvary Church in Lynnfield. Good Hope Inc. has been a vital resource in our community since 2016, providing sustenance for over 400 families and individuals each month. With the growing challenge of food insecurity in our region, your generosity is more important than ever.

You can contribute by placing your donations in the clearly labeled plastic bins located at the following sites:

  • Lynnfield Fire Headquarters
  • Lynnfield Town Hall (Temporary location at 590 Main St.)
  • Lynnfield Senior Center
  • Lynnfield Senior Center (Temporary Town Hall offices in Room 4)
  • Summer Street School
  • Huckleberry Hill School
  • Lynnfield Middle School
  • Lynnfield High School
  • Lynnfield Public Library

We are specifically seeking the following non-perishable food items:

  • Tuna cans
  • Chicken cans
  • Rice
  • Dry beans
  • Canned vegetables and fruit
  • Pasta
  • Tomato sauce
  • Juice
  • Oatmeal
  • Peanut butter
  • Cereal
  • Mac & cheese

Our Department of Public Works will collect the bins weekly, each Thursday, and deliver them directly to Good Hope Inc. for immediate distribution.
