Lynnfield Fire Department celebrates opening of new headquarters

October 28, 2025 by Chris Carrigan Brolly

The Lynnfield Fire Department held an official ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters building on Oct. 24. In addition to the Select Board and Chief Glenn Davis, State Rep. Bradley H. Jones, Jr., and State Sen. Brendan Crighton were also in attendance to give remarks and congratulations.

Davis ended the speaking portion of the event by echoing the thanks for everyone who made the new headquarters possible.

“This fire station is a promise,” he said. “A promise that we will always protect our neighbors, our families, and our homes. This station stands as a testament to what we can achieve when we work together… We know that our community will be safer, stronger, and better protected because of this new facility. May it stand for many years as a symbol of unity, bravery, and public service.”

The speakers gave thanks to everyone involved in the project, including the architects and designers, the contractor, and the Town staff who were instrumental in keeping the project on-time and in-budget. Town Administrator Rob Dolan also emphatically thanked the citizens of Lynnfield, who voted to support the project, which will serve not only Lynnfield but also the surrounding communities via mutual-aid.

Rob Dolan also gave special thanks to U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton and his staffer Tom Arsenault, who were instrumental in helping Lynnfield get the Staffing for Adequate Emergency Response (SAFER) grant. The SAFER grant is a competitive grant awarded by FEMA, and with it Lynnfield was able to hire four new full-time firefighters.
