John Beccia, a proven leader who built a successful career at the intersection of finance and government, announced his campaign for Massachusetts Sixth Congressional on Oct. 21.
A non-politician who will fight to build an economy that creates opportunities for working families and lowers costs, he would focus on the dual threats facing the North Shore: the crisis of affordability and the threats coming from Donald Trump and his supporters in Congress. Beccia has deep roots in the North Shore, residing in Lynnfield with his wife and two children who attend public school. He’s been active in the community, including coaching youth sports.
Beccia said, “I’m not a politician; I’m someone who cares deeply about my community and worries about my children’s future. Our economy and our elected officials are out of touch with the daily struggles of Massachusetts families — it’s time for a new voice and a fresh perspective.”
He added, “We’re facing a dual crisis: one of affordability and the other coming from Donald Trump and his supporters in Washington. I will be ready to take those on my first day in office. As costs for groceries, gas, childcare, and housing skyrocket, career politicians aren’t offering real solutions. We need people who can come to the table with ideas and who can get things done.
He continued, “I’m running for Congress because I believe it’s time for new leadership — leaders who understand what it’s like to work hard, to sacrifice, and to fight for a better future. High costs and taxes, low wages, and lack of opportunities are pushing families to the brink. Many are leaving the Commonwealth. We need to reverse this trend, create an economy that works for working people and make Massachusetts a model for the country. We also need to make sure the government starts serving the people again and not their own self-interests.”
Beccia was born and raised in a middle class family in Milford, where his father was a long time Selectman and taught him the value of public service. Beccia worked multiple jobs to afford college and graduate school, earning degrees in law and finance. He built a successful career working with federal regulators, combatting financial fraud, protecting consumers, and implementing reforms to ensure economic stability. As an entrepreneur, he has built companies, created jobs, and championed new industries, including emerging technology that improves people’s lives and creates jobs.
Beccia’s vision for the district is simple: He wants to create a brighter future by lowering costs and expanding opportunities while standing up to Trump and his threats to democracy. He will focus on developing more businesses and jobs on the North Shore, increasing wages, lowering taxes, and providing incentives for working families. He will address the housing shortage and rising costs for families. He will look to improve educational opportunities by developing additional vocational schools, more advanced technology training programs and tuition free community colleges. And, he will fight against cuts to healthcare and make sure all residents have access to affordable care. As a lawyer, he believes in the rule of law and protection of human rights. He will work to vigorously defend our democratic institutions, freedoms and rights.
