Lynnfield Recreation’s Middle School Ski Club (MSSC) registrations have opened.
Weather permitting, the club will run for six weeks on Fridays, starting Jan. 9 and continuing through Feb. 13. If any week needs to be canceled, an additional week will be added at the end.
The MSSC offers an opportunity for middle school students to practice their skiing and/or snowboarding and to take ski or snowboard lessons if needed.
Registration costs $400 for six weeks of lift tickets, or $470 for six weeks with lessons. Optionally, equipment rentals are available, with ski/snowboard rental costing $150 and helmet rental costing $40.
Lessons are offered in two levels. Level one is for complete beginners with no experience and who are unable to turn or control their skis/snowboard. Lesson two is for students who can walk/climb uphill, get up from a fall on their own, and are able to glide and balance on their skis/snowboard.
Lessons are not chairlift accessible.
To register visit the Lynnfield Recreation program page at lynnfieldma.myrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=30046. Space is limited. If you register and are put on a waitlist, do not rent equipment until your space is confirmed.
