After an empty 0-2 start, Lynnfield’s football team capitalized on home turf and got back on track Friday. The Pioneers took down Ipswich, 34-14, and upped their record to 1-2.
Do-it-all Luke DiSilvio (7 receptions, 140 yards) caught two touchdown passes and rushed for another score. Matt Tracy (15-for-18, 260 yards, 2 TDs) and Xander Janicki (6 tackles, TD) also played well for the Pioneers.
Dan Lemieux helped the cause with a rushing touchdown, while Lucas Deraps caught four balls for 24 yards and a two-point conversion score. Spencer Brown received some time under center, completing all three of his passes for 43 yards.
Defensively, Joel Attubato recorded an interception and Tobin Ventolieri scooped up a fumble. Aaron Attubato and Kevin Keyes registered sacks.
Despite committing 10 penalties and throwing two interceptions, Lynnfield picked up 10 first downs, 133 yards rushing, 275 yards passing, and held an advantage in time of possession (24:12 to 23:48).
Coach Pat Lamusta and the Pioneers visit Amesbury Friday at 6:30 p.m.
