Health Literacy Month: This October is Health Literacy Month, and 12% of adults in the U.S. are considered proficient in health literacy. Bear Hill Healthcare and Rehab in Stoneham will be here with a presentation on how to help you understand your health information about your well-being. Literary Lunch: Do you love to read? Enjoy a good conversation? Join us for a relaxed, friendly gathering where we’ll talk books, share stories, and enjoy lunch together for $4. First Wednesday of every month. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Sign up with Cris for lunch and Lisa for the club.
Friends Thrift Boutique: Come see what goodies we have in store for you! The shop is run by the Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center. The shop is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. All are welcome! Donations are greatly appreciated. Swing by and score some one-of-a-kind gems you won’t find anywhere else.
Ask the Nurse: On the first and third Wednesday of each month, Nurse Karen Cronin, from the Lynnfield Health Department, will visit our center from 9:p30-10:30 a.m. She will offer free blood pressure screenings and will be available to offer assistance with prescriptions and other health-related questions. Blood sugar testing is on the first Wednesday of each month. Drop in.
