Lynnfield Scouts to hold sign-up ‘adventure’

September 16, 2025 by Amanda Lurey

Lynnfield’s Cub Scout Pack 48 and Scouts BSA Troop 48 are hosting a sign-up “adventure” event on Sept. 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Centre Congregational Church, located at 5 Summer St.

Families should attend with their potential Scouts as there will be fun activities for all.

Cub Scouting is for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Scouts BSA is made up of Scouts aged 12-17. Scouting promotes character-building, teamwork, and real-world skills.

Scouting offers young people an opportunity to take off from their digital lives – mobile phones, computer games, etc. – and a way to get involved in real life adventures, including year-round outdoor adventures. Scouts build friendships and team-bonding with other Scouts.

Over the years, Scouts can, if they wish, work their way up to being an Eagle Scout, which is achieved by fewer than 5% of Scouts. This year, Lynnfield’s Troop awarded four Scouts with Eagle Rank.

The Lynnfield Scouts are asking the community to encourage any students they know “who would enjoy the fun adventures and leadership opportunities Scouting offers” to attend the Sept. 24 sign-up event.

To learn more, contact Pack 48 Leader Hanh Chu via email at hanh.t.chu@gmail.com. Interested families can also learn more information by perusing the Scouts’ Facebook page: facebook.com/groups/troop48lynnfield/.
