The Lynnfield for Love Committee, Lynnfield Democratic Town Committee and Lynnfield Public Library are sponsoring An Evening of History & Resilience Sept. 18 at the Lynnfield Meeting House.
Lynnfield residents are warmly invited to join us for a very special community event featuring Joyce Fukasawa, who will share her powerful, personal story. As a young girl, Joyce and her family were forced from their home and sent to a Japanese internment camp during World War II.
In her own words, Fukasawa will share what it was like to live behind barbed wire, how her family endured and the lasting impact of those years. Her story is one of hardship, resilience and the strength of memory.
This is a rare opportunity to hear history brought to life through lived experience — an evening that will deepen our understanding of the lasting impact of forced incarceration, honor resilience and remind us of the importance of safeguarding civil liberties for all.
Fukasawa is a Lynnfield resident, former volunteer of the Lynnfield Art Guild and beloved member of our community.
Featured speaker Fukasawa will begin speaking at 6 p.m. Sept. 18. light refreshments will also be served,
Following her talk, there will be time for questions, reflection and community discussion. This is a community event open to everyone.
