Treasurer/Tax Collector
The Town of Lynnfield seeks candidates for the position of Treasurer/Collector.
The Treasurer/Collector works under the direction of the Finance Director, and supervises three full-time employees. Primary responsibilities include the receipt, disbursement, investment and custody of all municipal funds; managing the Town’s debt service, including the issuance of bonds, the custody of tax title properties, managing foreclosure activities and collection of all monies due to the Town. The Treasurer/Collector serves as the Town’s cash manager and is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of all revenues, bank accounts and the Treasurer’s cashbook. This position is also responsible for payroll and administration of retirement, worker’s compensation and all benefit programs.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field and at least five years’ experience in municipal finance, preferably as a Treasurer/Collector or Assistant Treasurer/Collector, is preferred. Successful candidate should have thorough knowledge of municipal procedures and laws, excellent communication, and supervisory skills; must be CMMT certified within three years of employment. Experience with MUNIS is highly desirable. Must be bondable.

JOB OPPORTUNITY
Assistant Conservation Planner
The Town of Lynnfield seeks a full-time, benefitted Assistant Conservation Planner, reporting directly to the Director of Planning & Conservation. This position offers a work environment that favors independent effort, exciting project initiatives and collaboration with accomplished colleagues. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing inspectional field support including site visits, maintenance of related documentation and databases, and assistance with review of applications under the Wetlands Protection Act, Lynnfield Wetlands Protection Bylaw, Subdivisions and Lynnfield Tree Preservation Bylaw.
The position also includes routine monitoring of Town-owned open spaces, and staff cooperation with the very active Open Space & Recreation Working Group, currently working on exciting local trails development projects. Town Engineer
The Town of Lynnfield Department of Public Works is seeking applications for a Town Engineer, a 40-hour per week non-union management position.
Manages daily operations of all engineering activities within the Department including prioritizing, staffing, assigning and directing the work of vendors, consultants and contractors; all involving technically oriented and highly specialized subject matter. Serves as liaison with certain State and Federal agencies and various Town boards, coordinates roadway, drainage and other improvement programs, etc.
Massachusetts Professional Engineer Registration required; bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field with 6-10 years’ experience in some or all the following areas: municipal engineering and roadway design and construction inspection; design and construction of water, sewer and drainage utilities; working knowledge of traffic engineering principals, site design for private developments, and demonstrated experience as a manager of engineering staff and projects. Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and the materials, methods, practices and equipment used in the design, construction, maintenance and repair of roadways, and water, sewer, septic and drain systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, and of AutoCAD and GIS Systems. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Knowledge in public procurement policy; procurement certificate classes preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in providing customer service to co-workers and residents with tact, courtesy, sensitivity and discretion.
