Investigation into Timothy O’Neil’s death continues in Lynnfield

July 15, 2025 by Erell Renaudeau

Authorities are still investigating the death of Lynnfield resident Timothy O’Neil, who was found in his home on May 9.

Lynnfield Chief of Police Nick Secatore said “there is nothing to be released” at this time, as “the case is still under investigation.”

In a joint statement released on May 11, Secatore and Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker confirmed it is an “apparent homicide.” On May 9, Lynnfield Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 8:30 p.m. and found Timothy O’Neil, 55, of Lynnfield with apparent trauma.

O’Neil was pronounced deceased at the scene.
