The temperatures are rising and the last school bells are ringing and the Library is gearing up for summer reading. The theme this year is “Level Up at Your Library,” and the library will be working as a community to fill the Summer Reading Jar with reading challenges for kids and bingo for teens and adults!.Check out Summer Reading Page on library website for more details. Ince again. the Summer Reading Challenge will use the Beanstack app. For those who have used Beanstack in the past, there is no need to sign up again–just log in and join the Summer Reading 2025 challenge. For those who signing up for the first time, head to the Beanstack website or download the app, Beanstack Tracker, to sign up and join the challenge for your age group. If you have kids, you can sign them up for their age range on your Beanstack account, too. Once signed up, you can log books as well as complete activities for badges. For those who prefer to use paper to participate in Summer Reading, stop by the Library Children’s Room for a reading log or by the Young Adult Area for a bingo sheet. The library’s Summer Reading Kickoff Party will be held on the Town Common on Monday, June 23 from 2:30-4 p.m. There will be Richie’s Italian Ice, face painting, a balloon twister (ages 3+), bubble machines, and more. In the case of inclement weather this event will be held in Richard Hall at the Centre Congregational Church. The library will have various programs throughout the summer, including partnering with MarketStreet for three programs – Magic Fred, Mike Bent’s AbraKidabra! and Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals on the MarketStreet Green. Our thanks to MarketStreet Lynnfield and the Friends of the Lynnfield Library for helping with the Summer Reading programming. Other programs include Game Time! with Storyteller Diane Edgecomb, Alchemy Lab with Ed the Wizard, and Music with Rockabye Beats! For more information check out these events on the Library Calendar. Some events require registration, so sign up today if you don’t want to miss out. Looking for books for Lynnfield Public Schools? The library has those, too.
