Martino magic highlights doubleheader

June 3, 2025 by Joey Barrett

Wednesday’s (May 28) tennis doubleheader was a good one for Lynnfield High as both the boys and girls varsity teams picked up state tournament wins.

Better yet, the day came with a massive milestone.

Paige Martino, at first singles, picked up her 71st singles win, breaking a 25-year-old school record previously held by Tori Spence Dowling.

Add singles wins from Lily Alves and Kami Khiat and doubles victories from Ella Hayman/Vicky McCrann and Emma Wagon/Victoria Clancy – and that was all she wrote. The girls, ranked No. 1 in Division 4, took down No. 32 Uxbridge, 5-0.

On the boys’ side, No. 2 Lynnfield defeated No. 31 Springfield International Charter, 5-0.

Shea McCarthy, Shlok Kudrimoti, and Matt Reinold went 1-2-3 in singles, followed by doubles wins from Raffi Arkun/Rishabh Anand and Emile Coumans/Ash Mahajan.
