Police Logs April 25 – May 2

Friday, April 25

Motor Vehicles

Between 6:20 and 8:14 a.m., officers conducted traffic enforcement on Walnut Street at Sparhawk Drive, issuing citations to several commercial trucks. Additional verbal warnings were issued during a motor vehicle stop at 444 Summer Street.

Officer Wanted

At 7:09 a.m., officers responded to Howard Avenue after a report of possible vandalism. Upon arrival, they observed yellow paint resembling mustard splattered on a vehicle. No one was home at the time.

Property Checks

Officers conducted overnight building checks at 584 and 505 Main Street, Summer Street, Trickett Road, Knoll Road, and Forest Hill Cemetery. All locations were found secure.

Saturday, April 26

Animal Complaint

At 11:44 a.m., a caller on Main Street reported a large turtle attempting to cross the road. Officers responded and assisted the animal safely across.

Disturbance

At 9:04 p.m., police responded to a report of a verbal dispute between a male and female in a parked vehicle on Salem Street. The individuals agreed to separate for the evening, and officers cleared the scene.

Investigations

At 6:21 p.m., a resident of West Tapley Road reported a potential scam involving an online purchase. Officers documented the incident.

Motor Vehicles

Throughout the day, officers conducted traffic enforcement on Summer Street and Main Street, issuing citations and verbal warnings. One stop at 11:04 a.m. resulted in a citation for revoked registration.

Property Checks

Routine overnight and morning property checks were completed on Main Street, Summer Street, Trickett Road, and Oak Street. All appeared secure.

Sunday, April 27

Alarms

At 9:15 a.m., officers responded to an accidental burglar alarm at a business on Market Street. The building was found secure.

Disturbance

At 8:53 p.m., a group of juveniles was reported loitering and being loud near Post Office Square. Officers arrived and dispersed the group without issue.

Property Checks

Officers conducted routine property checks at Summer Street, Knoll Road, Essex Street, and Post Office Square. No issues were found.

Traffic Enforcement

Officers issued verbal warnings and citations on Walnut Street, Main Street, and Salem Street during traffic enforcement throughout the day.

Monday, April 28

Alarms

At 9:18 a.m., officers responded to a residential alarm on Heritage Lane. It was deemed accidental. Another alarm was reported at 2:34 p.m. on Salem Street and found to be false following a walkthrough with keyholders.

Animal Complaint

At 9:17 a.m., officers assisted with relocating a large snapping turtle from the roadway on Thomas Road to a nearby wooded area.

Disturbance

A parking dispute between neighbors on Hart Road was reported at 7:15 p.m. Officers spoke with both parties and mediated the issue.

Property Checks

Patrols were conducted throughout the evening at Oak Street, Trickett Road, Salem Street, Ross Drive, and Grove Street. All properties were secure.

Traffic Enforcement

Directed patrols were carried out on Main Street and Walnut Street between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Multiple verbal warnings were issued along with one citation for speeding.

Tuesday, April 29

Alarms

At 11:24 a.m., officers responded to a false burglar alarm at a residence on Locksley Road. A panic alarm was also reported at 2:01 p.m. at a medical office on Market Street and found to be accidental.

Property Checks

Routine patrols were completed at Summer Street, Essex Street, Grove Street, Oak Street, and Post Office Square. All locations appeared secure.

Suspicious Activity

At 9:03 p.m., a resident on Keniston Road reported a vehicle circling the neighborhood slowly. Officers searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.

Traffic Enforcement

Officers conducted traffic stops on Main Street, Nottingham Road, and Chestnut Street between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., issuing several verbal warnings and one written citation.

Wednesday, April 30

Alarms

At 7:39 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at the DPW building on Salem Street, which was triggered by employee entry. Later, a residential alarm on North Broadway was canceled by the homeowner at 4:16 p.m.

Officer Wanted

At 1:11 p.m., a resident on Green Street requested officer assistance in a civil matter involving a contractor. Officers advised both parties accordingly.

Property Checks

Overnight and midday patrols were conducted on Grove Street, Knoll Road, Summer Street, and Main Street. All properties were found secure.

Traffic Enforcement

Traffic enforcement on Walnut Street and Market Street between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. resulted in verbal warnings for speeding and stop sign violations.

Thursday, May 1

Alarms

At 8:56 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at an office on Market Street. The alarm was accidental.

Animal Complaint

A raccoon behaving erratically was reported at 6:41 a.m. on Essex Street. Animal Control was notified.

Disturbance

At 9:44 p.m., officers responded to Ross Drive for a noise complaint involving loud music. A group was found gathered and advised to turn the volume down.

Property Checks

Patrols were conducted at Trickett Road, Oak Street, Summer Street, King Rail Drive, and Post Office Square. All appeared in order.

Traffic Enforcement

Officers issued citations and warnings on Main Street, Salem Street, and Nottingham Road during traffic stops throughout the day. One commercial citation was issued near Walnut Street.

Friday, May 2

Alarms

At 9:03 a.m., a panic alarm was reported at a residence on North Broadway. The homeowner canceled the alarm, confirming it was accidental.

Disturbance

At 8:04 p.m., a group of youths was seen throwing items into the street from the overpass near Lowell Street. Officers responded and cleared the group.

Property Checks

Morning and evening checks were conducted at Forest Hill Cemetery, Main Street, Oak Street, and Essex Street. All areas were secure.

Traffic Enforcement

Traffic details were held between 6:15 and 8:45 a.m. on Summer Street and Walnut Street. Multiple verbal warnings were issued, along with one citation for speeding.
