LAG announces Arts Festival award winners

The Lynnfield Arts Festival 2025 was a wonderful day filled with art, music, creativity, home baked delights and community sharing celebrating our 61st year. Thanks to our many volunteers and supporters, visitors enjoyed a fine art show and sale, bake sale, art vendors, local organization tables, face painting by Lynnfield High School student Roxanne Beatrice, raffles, and a rousing concert by the Swamptones.

 It is the Lynnfield Art Guild’s pleasure to announce the Judge’s, Deidre Tao, Laurie Schmidt and Robin D’Antona, choices for ribbons and awards: For Oil/Acrylic First Prize Leslie Scott-Lysan, “Fall Vista: Mount Lafayette,” Second Prize Priscilla March, “Dandelion Road,” Third Prize Dan Abenaim, “Down by the Riverbank” and Honorable Mention Matthew Martelli, “Pont Saint Michael.”

For Watercolor/Pastel First Prize went to Lorraine O’Brien, “Dish of Flowers,” Second Prize Shaila Desai, “Colorful Pots,” Third Prize Maya Jacob, “Fresh Fish,” and Honorable Mention Shaila Desai, “Monsoon Reflections.”

In the Mixed Media Category First Prize Kimberly Morrow, “Maybe She’s a Wildflower,” Second Prize Hedy Sanni, “Flower Spirit,” Third Prize Brian Edmonds, “Beyond the Trees,” and Honorable Mention Leslie Chang, “Colonial in Fall.”

In Photography First Prize Catherine Grassello, “Goodnight Pink House,” Second Prize Greg Pronevitz, “Red Knots in Motion,” Third Prize Catherine Grassello, “Spinner’s Gulls,” and Honorable Mention William Mullen, “Mine.”

Sue Collins won the first annual Jeanne Rose Award for Excellence with the photograph, “Magical Glow Aurora Borealis.”

Lynnfield High School students won the following prizes for Student Art: First Prize Senior Kayla Santo, “The Broken Mirror” (watercolor, gouache, pen & ink), Second Prize Junior Jerusha Robins “Untitled” (oil paint, glass), Third Prize senior Roseann Beatrice “Grandma’s Wings” (colored pencil), and Honorable Mention senior Caitlin Buoniconti “Teenage Girl” (graphite pencils).

The Savings Bank Artist Awards were given to Pat O’Connor, “Purple Cascade” (First), and Frank Tomasello, “Wildflowers III” (Second). The Savings Bank student awards were given to Caitlin Buoniconti’s graphite pencil piece, “Teenage Girl” (First), and Emily Toscano’s colored pencil and gouache work, “Plenty of Fish in the Sea” (Second).
