Although Lynnfield’s Luke DiSilvio threw a no-hitter through four innings and allowed no walks last Tuesday, April 22, his visiting Pioneers (4-3) fell in the seventh and final inning. Pentucket escaped with a 6-5 win.
“The pitching was good – let’s just say we gave up six unearned runs,” said Lynnfield Coach John O’Brien. “You’ve got to be able to make plays when the game is on the line, and we didn’t do that today.”
Leading the offense were Nick Groussis (3 H), Walter Radulski (2), and Jimmy Pasquale, who connected on a “terrific RBI-single to take the lead,” according to O’Brien.
“The kids are working hard. It’s just when big moments come, you’ve got to be able to make the plays mentally and physically,” O’Brien said. “It’s not for a lack of effort – these kids work hard and the captains make up a good group.”

Not only was there solid defensive display from the Eagles, but they got plenty of offense thanks to Harvard commit Will Shaheen, who hit a two-run homer to power The Prep.
