ROUNDUP: Hadzihasanovic tosses no-hitter against Georgetown

April 22, 2025 by Joey Barrett

Junior baseball player Harris Hadzihasanovic was the man of the hour for host Lynnfield, tossing a no-hitter in a five-inning mercy rule contest against Georgetown last Tuesday, April 15. He struck out four and walked four as the Pioneers won, 10-0.

Dylan Nguyen (2 RBI, double, 3 R, 3 SB) and Tyler Adamo (double, 2 RBI) had big days at the plate, each going 2-for-3. Luke DiSilvio (1-for-2, 2 R, RBI, SB), Walter Radulski (RBI, R), and Charlie Morgan (RBI, R, SB) also had hits.

“Harris also pitched a great game and the kids played very well behind him,” said Lynnfield Coach John O’Brien. “Tyler had a great game at short. Luke played great at third and Dylan did a nice job at second base, and the kids made the most of what they got at the plate and ran the bases well.”

BASEBALL

North Reading 3

North Reading (5-1) was undefeated heading into Saturday morning’s tilt with Lynnfield (4-2), but the Pioneers prevailed and doubled up the Hornets at home. Lynnfield’s Madux Iovinelli (7 IP, 6 H, 4 K) was a man on a mission, pitching a complete game and going 2-for-3 at the plate with a single and double.

Also contributing were DiSilvio (2-run HR), Adamo (HR), catcher Matt Tracy (2-for-3), and Jimmy Pasquale (2 RBI).

SOFTBALL

Lowell Catholic 4

Lynnfield (2-3) fell short against Lowell Catholic (3-1) despite a strong outing from pitcher Gia Gagnon (6 IP, 6 K, 2 BB, 6 H), who also compiled three singles at the plate. Olivia Kelter (2 H, RBI) and Lily Williams (RBI) contributed offensively, while Lynnfield Coach Hector Longo said Williams was “absolutely dynamite defensively behind the plate.”

Lynnfield 10
Hamilton-Wenham 2

After a few tough losses, Lynnfield (2-2) returned with vengeance to knock off Hamilton-Wenham at home. Freshman Lilly Gately (7 IP, ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 8 K) strung together her first varsity win.

The Pioneers’ offense was led by Angelina O’Hara (3 RBI), Morgan Hubbard (2 RBI), Kaila George (2 H), and Julia Corrente (RBI double).

GIRLS TENNIS

Lynnfield 3
Danvers 2

It was a doubles party in Lynnfield (7-0), as the duos of Ella Hayman/Vicky McCrann and Fiona Asad/Nandana Nishanth picked up wins. Add a singles triumph from Lily Alves, and that was all she wrote against Danvers.

Lynnfield 4
Pentucket 1

Despite a loss in second doubles, Lynnfield had more than enough to secure a win against Pentucket. Paige Martino, Alves, and Kami Khiat were victorious in singles, while Emma Wagon and Victoria Clancy got the job done in first doubles.

BOYS LACROSSE

St. John’s Prep 11
Falmouth (Maine) 6

Two defending state champions. One game.

The Prep (8-0) remained perfect with a five-goal win against host Falmouth after trailing by two goals early. The Eagles tucked six unanswered goals and took a 7-4 halftime lead.

Beckett Lee (3 goals, assist), Luke Kelly (3 goals), and Ryan McCarthy (2 goals) led the offense, while Jack Weissenburger (4 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers) shined defensively.
