I am writing in encouragement of School Committee re-election candidate Jenny Sheehan. The next few months we are facing difficult decisions as a town on where our priorities lie, and we are confident in Jenny’s ability to navigate the numbers of this budget in order to maintain stability in our school district.
No one wants a tax increase, but it’s imperative to continue the educational standard we’ve had for decades. That expectation has slipped away in our town budget while Jenny and other members of the school committee are fighting to maintain classroom teachers and services necessary for children at every level.
Jenny has stood firm for our students and refuses to perpetuate a cycle of cuts that harms the quality of education. I encourage anyone who has questions on the past or future to talk directly with Jenny – she can answer the tough questions, is open to hearing various solutions, and will continue to help stabilize our district policies.
