BEVERLY — Lynnfield’s Chloe Shapleigh has been named the Conference of New England’s (CNE) Softball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Shapleigh led Endicott to a 4-0 conference week with a .615/.667/1.154 slash line, eight hits – including two doubles, a triple, and a homer – five runs scored, nine RBI, and two walks.
In game one against UNE (12-0, 12-4), Shapleigh tallied a career-high-tying six RBI to lead the Gulls. The senior first baseman notched an RBI groundout in the first (2-0), launched a grand slam to right field in the fourth (10-0), and capped the scoring in the fifth with a single.
Shapleigh’s six RBI are the second-most in a single game in program history (tied, 10 instances).
In the doubleheader versus Gordon (8-3, 11-3), Shapleigh went 4-for-7 with one run scored, two doubles, three RBI, and a walk.
This is the third CNE Player of the Week award in Shapleigh’s career (5/8/23, 4/2/24).
