LTTE: Elect Donahue for strong schools

March 18, 2025 by To the editor

To the editor:

I am writing to express my enthusiastic endorsement of Kim Baker Donahue for the Lynnfield School Committee. Having known Kim since we were 12 years old, I have had the privilege to witness firsthand the exceptional qualities that make her an ideal candidate for this position.

I proudly grew up in Lynnfield, and still have family there. While I moved just a town over, I have remained close friends with Kim throughout my life. I consider her my sister, having spent countless hours as a child and young adult at her home. Her family was always welcoming and nurturing; her home was the place to be for safety and love. I truly considered the Baker residence my home away from home. Kim and I have grown up together, and have watched our children grow together.

Throughout her life, Kim has consistently demonstrated a strong moral compass and exemplary character. Her integrity, dedication, and genuine concern for the well-being of others have always stood out to me. She puts everyone else first, plain and simple, and does so with a genuinely positive attitude. She brings light and joy to everyone around her. These are precisely the attributes that are essential for a role on the school committee, where decisions greatly impact the lives of students, parents, and educators in our community.

Kim is deeply committed to fostering an educational environment that supports diverse learning needs and promotes academic excellence. Her vision for Lynnfield schools includes a focus on both academic achievement and the personal development of each student. She understands the importance of preparing our children not just for tests, but for life.

In addition to her personal qualities, Kim’s professional experiences have equipped her with valuable insights into educational policies and effective communication skills. She listens carefully to the concerns of parents, teachers, and students alike, ensuring all voices are heard and respected in the decision-making process.

I trust Kim implicitly and am confident that she will bring a positive, thoughtful, and forward-thinking approach to the Lynnfield School Committee. Her leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and improvement of the schools. She is kind-hearted, passionate, and committed and approaches decisions with pragmatism and determination. She will work across the spectrum of diverse opinions and values to do what is best for the town.

Please join me in supporting Kim Baker Donahue for the Lynnfield School Committee. You will not be disappointed!

Sincerely,

Doris Fournier (LHS grad class of 1995)
