The Lynnfield Public Library is excited to feature paintings by local artist Frank Gelott during January and February.
In Gelott’s own words: “I am inspired by my experiences with nature. I place no restrictions on myself, and when I start painting, I let myself go. I often spend a great deal of time on the objects and the colors, and they express my spirit and feelings. By making each work whimsical and bright, I try to create a sense of well-being and bring my viewers to a place in their mind they wouldn’t normally go to.”

Born and raised in New England, Gelott attended the University of Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management. He later shifted his focus to graphic art and founded Mad Hatter Design, a graphic design and desktop publishing studio. Gelott produced a wide variety of commercial art on Massachusetts’ North Shore, and his business grew into a prominent member of the Cape Ann business community.
Gelott eventually turned his attention to fine art. His works are now part of private collections and have been featured in various exhibitions throughout the Greater Boston area.
