The Lynnfield Public Library is excited to announce its 2025 Community Read! This year, we will be reading The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, a now-classic work of middle-grade literature that’s perfect for family reading. In addition, this year’s Middle School Play (Feb. 7-9) will feature an interpretation of Percy Jackson.
For those already familiar with Percy Jackson, we’ll also be offering Circe by Madeline Miller for adults, Goddesses, and Gardens by Valerie Tripp and Teresa Martinez for younger children, and Weird But True: Greek Mythology by Sarah Wassner Flynn for middle-grade readers. These books explore Greek mythology across all ages and interest levels and will be available to check out at the Lynnfield Library.
Events and community discussions are planned around these books in partnership with A Healthy Lynnfield, Lynnfield Community Schools, Lynnfield Recreation, Lynnfield Cultural Council, and Lynnfield For Love. We are particularly excited to host a virtual author talk with Madeline Miller, in partnership with several other libraries and Whitelam Books in Reading.
Additional events include Kouzina for Curious About Cuisine, Lightning Thief Trivia, a presentation by the Traveling Librarian Jeff Klapes on his travels in Greece, a Greek God scavenger hunt, the Camp Half-Blood Necklace Quest, and much more!
We hope you’ll join us in reading and discussing these great books. For more information, please visit www.lynnfieldlibrary.org or call 781-334-5411.
