State coaches select Super 26 and more

January 21, 2025 by Anne Marie Tobin

Local football standouts have been named to the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association’s Super 26 All-State and Divisional All-State football teams. The Super 26 All-State team includes 26 of the best high school football players across Massachusetts in several position categories, regardless of division.

This year’s team includes St. John’s Prep senior Graham Roberts of Swampscott (offensive line), Lynnfield senior Jared Bernabei (secondary), and Roberts’ senior teammate, Merrick Barlow of Newburyport (receiver).

Lynnfield coach Pat Lamusta described Bernabei as a “Renaissance man who does it all.

“I’m really proud that he was recognized statewide for his performance this year,” Lamusta said. “Jared does it all in the weight room, he does it all in the classroom, and he does it all on offense and defense – and he can punt. It’s hard to miss a performance where a kid had more than 20 tackles in a game (Amesbury).”

The Division 6 teams were loaded with local talent with five players from Lynnfield. The All-State team included Pioneer seniors Tyler Adamo (quarterback), Walter Radulski (offensive line), and Bernabei (linebacker).

“Tyler Adamo is a truly smart football player, so it’s no surprise he is considered one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the state. He mastered his craft delivering the ball in our offense. He made it very difficult for teams to play zone,” Lamusta said. “Walt went up against the biggest guys on some of the best teams in the regular season and playoffs. He really showed his endurance as well as playing two ways in every game. He held down the middle of the line on both sides of the ball and stepped up his physicality this year.”

Lynnfield seniors Jesse Dorman and Madux Iovinelli were named to the honorable mention team.

“Jesse was our deep-ball threat and had impressive grabs, and also got it done on defense at corner. ” Lamusta said. “”You couldn’t miss Madux Iovinelli and neither could Tyler. Madux has a tremendous catch radius and run-after-catch ability. He is one of the greats to play wide receiver for us over the years. It was no surprise that Madux and Jesse were in the all-state conversation with their playing ability.”
