The Lynnfield Historical Society Annual Country Store Committee thanked members and friends of the Society who participated in the 63rd Annual Country Store and helped keep the tradition alive.
The Country Store was initiated in 1962 as a fundraiser to support the renovation and maintenance of the iconic 1714 Meetinghouse. From 1960 to 2019, the Society proudly contributed more than $1 million to this mission. The tradition continued this year with the offering of traditional ham & bean suppers, hand cut cheese, wreaths, poinsettias, and mixed-green roping. Attendees of the event were treated to a tour and history of the 1667 Henfield House, the oldest house in Lynnfield.
As in prior years, proceeds will be donated to Haven from Hunger. The Food Pantry at Haven from Hunger provides households in Lynnfield, Peabody, and Salem with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, and non-perishable goods.
