The library offers much more than books, one of them being the Library of Things – Children’s Collection. The Children’s Collection in the Library of Things includes a wide variety of items such as activity kits, games, and puzzles geared specifically for children, including explorer kits and tonie boxes.
The latest addition to the collection is dramatic-play kits, which provide props to play make-believe. Kids can pretend to work at a restaurant, animal hospital, school, or fix-it shop. The kits encourage children to use their imaginations to create stories using props. They help children learn about types of tools and encourage them to play the role of different occupations.
Other items in the collection include the following:
- Explorer kits — Curious about birds, bugs, rocks or beaches? Each kit comes in a backpack with books as well as a magnifying glass, binoculars, compass, notebook and pencils, so that you can learn more about nature and take field notes.
- Two Tonie Boxes as well as bundles of different characters from Disney, Paw Patrols, Daniel the Tiger, and more — Tonies enhance the learning experience with fun stories/songs accompanied by cute characters.
- Early literacy kits — a combination of books, toys, games, and activities that create a multi-sensory learning environment. Children can engage in hands-on play that reinforces the concepts and themes introduced in the books.
