Lynnfield’s girls cross country team competed in Saturday’s Cape Ann League Championship in Wrentham. Despite the windy weather, coach Liane Cook said her girls ran “really aggressively.” The Pioneers finished in fifth place and defeated two programs that had beaten them in the regular season (Manchester-Essex and Amesbury). Abby Lopez placed first for Lynnfield for the second consecutive week. The team will next run on Nov. 9 in Wrentham for the Division 3A State Championship. (Liane Cook)
