The Lynnfield Senior Center, located at 525 Salem St., is hosting its annual Purse and Jewelry Sale from Monday, Nov. 4 to Friday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
The Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center hosts the annual fundraiser to raise money for the center, President of the Friends Pauline Finberg said. The sale raised a few thousand dollars last year.
The sale will include more than 500 purses and lots of jewelry to purchase and is open to the public, not just those 60 years of age and older, she said. Purse and jewelry dealers are prohibited from the fundraiser.
She said the Friends added a silent auction this year, which will feature three new purses at starting prices between $100 to $300.
Treasurer of the Friends, Georgann Lieb, said this year’s fund will go toward a new $50,000 that the Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center pledged to donate.
“The favorite part of the purse and jewelry sale is seeing the happy faces of the people who have found not only the perfect purse or piece of jewelry but have purchased it at a fabulous price,” Finberg said.
