With the upcoming vote on the renovation of the Lynnfield Public Library, we know the community has many questions. This is an important decision, and one no voter should make lightly. We want all Lynnfield residents to fully understand what they are voting on at the Nov. 13 Town Meeting.
The core of the Lynnfield Library is the children’s room, originally built as a schoolhouse in 1856. Additions were made to the library in 1959 and 1967, and a small renovation in 1992 added a ramp. However, the library has been largely untouched for the past 32 years. To help answer residents’ questions and highlight issues with the building’s electricity, plumbing, and roof, Library Director Abigail Porter will be giving tours of the library.
