Offerings at the Lynnfield Senior Center

A lot is going on at the Lynnfield senior center. Call the center for more information on these programs and many more. Stop in one day and see all that we offer. 781-598-1078.

Memory Cafe: Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 9:45 a.m. for our first Memory Café! Anyone living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their caregivers are encouraged to attend and enjoy some fun. We will offer our new Café once a quarter. For this first meeting , we will be entertained by singer Jim Strong while we enjoy some refreshments as we get to know each other. Michelle Parr, caregiver specialist from GLSS will be available if you need any assistance, but the purpose of these CAFÉ’s is to just enjoy and have fun. In upcoming Memory Café’s we will enjoy cooking demo’s, crafts, and interactive learning. Please sign up with Lisa.

New Fitness Class: All-In-One-Workout, with Diane Kaplan. Kaplan will be working with weights, cardio and stretching and help you move better. If you like her Friday morning class, you will want to join her in this new workout class. Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Classes start Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. Call the center and sign up with Lisa. Cost $5.00 per class.

New Class: Funfit: This class aims to help seniors maintain or improve their physical independence, reduce risk of falls and enhance their quality of life. Modifications and the use of a chair are used to accommodate different levels. First class Monday Oct. 7 at 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration required. Call the center and sign up with Lisa. Cost $5.00 per class.

Ask the Nurse: On the first and third Wednesday of each month, Nurse Karen Cronin, from the Lynnfield Health Department, will visit our center from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. She will offer free blood pressure screenings, and will be available to offer assistance with prescriptions and other health-related questions. Drop In.
