Lynnfield Rec offering several fall programs

September 17, 2024 by For The Weekly News

You’re not too late. Lynnfield Recreation still has some space for several fall programs. Register today at Lynnfieldrec.com

Cross Country Trailblazers

Co-ed cross country running is all about natural terrain. Races are run in open country, fields, parks, golf courses, and grasslands. This program will feature proper stretching, warm-ups, skill-building runs, and a final longform run to close out the session. For safety purposes, most running will be conducted at or around the track, but we will do our best to incorporate natural elements on the middle school grounds as well. This program is a perfect introduction to longform running or a great way to stay active if your student already enjoys running.

Sports Zone 101 Flag Football

Co-ed flag football provides students with the opportunity to develop many of the same skills, tactics, and strategies used in football without significant physical contact. Not to mention, all of the skills used in flag football can be applied to any sport your child may be interested in later. Flag is a safe, fun way to get lots of exercise, learn a bit about teamwork and sportsmanship, and make some new friends. This program will be full of fun activities, drills, mini-games, and the chance to win some awesome prizes.

Afternoon Anarchy Basketball

This fast-paced, co-ed basketball program will feature individual or team skill competitions, mini-games, and a set of tournament games each week. Points will be accumulated throughout the program and tabulated the final week to crown three champions. Sports cards will be given out each week to participants, but three additional small prizes will be given out to the students who receive the most points in the program. Points are not only awarded for skill. We also pay very close attention to sportsmanship, teamwork, behavior, and coachability when awarding points. Come see if you have what it takes.
