DPW is still on schedule to begin roadway work today, Monday, Sept. 16. Work this week will include saw cutting and some preliminary curbing work, tree trimming and some minor drainage structure improvements in various locations throughout the program. Recall that neighborhood streets Bluejay Road, Heath Circle and Liberty Lane; Pyburn Road, Smith Farm Trail, Orchard Lane and Cortland Road from Apple Hill to Tophet are all included in this phase of the program.

The sidewalk and curbing work will be performed by Allied Paving. Sidewalk ramp (ADA Accessible) repairs and adjustments as well as curb removal will take place in some locations on these streets.

During the week of Sept. 23, roadway grinding/milling operations will commence. This work will be performed by Newport Construction and D&R construction. Final paving of the above streets will begin in early to mid-October. This work will be performed by D&R Construction. National Grid subcontractors will perform roadway grinding and paving on Edgemere Road and Oakridge Lane will take place the week of Sept. 23. Ramps on Edgemere and Bishops will be added prior to paving with a crosswalk painted after paving is completed.

Streets may be closed and detours in place whenever work is in progress. Police Officers will be on site to assist drivers as needed. Residents will have access to their homes subject to brief delay. Please be aware that construction equipment and crews can come from any direction. Trash Collection will continue in accordance with the scheduled day on each street. Construction crews have been instructed that all busses and school transports for pickup and drop off must be allowed at their scheduled times.

For questions, please call the Public Works office at 781-334-9500 ext. O or email Town Engineer, John Tomasz, P.E. at jtomasz@town.lynnfield.ma.us. We appreciate your patience while we provide improved roadways for the Town.
