The Select Board voted to appoint four committee members to serve on the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee at its meeting on Monday.
A petition to create this committee was passed at the annual Town Meeting, Select Board Chair Dick Dalton said.
The Traffic Safety Advisory Committee is an “advisory committee reporting to the Select Board,” Dalton read from the town article. “The purpose of the committee will be to evaluate public safety and nuisance issues involving traffic, roads, and related infrastructure in the town… The primary function of the committee will be to facilitate issues resolution and communications between the townspeople and the Select Board. Research as to regulation, laws, and best practices will be conducted by the committee as necessary to ensure best efforts to perform this function in a transparent manner.”
A monthly meeting forum will be held for residents to express their concerns to the committee and the committee will submit a monthly report to the Select Board with recommendations, he said.
The board interviewed six residents — Bob Gillon, Anthony Guerriero, Christina Hayman, Erin Hohmann, Lauren Hurton, and Tom Manning — for the four seats on the committee. Manning, Hayman, and Hurton were appointed to the committee, as well as Guerriero as its chairperson.
