On July 22, 2024, a new mass-notification service (MNS) became available to ratepayers of the Peabody Municipal Light Plant. It is called OnSolve-CodeRED and will help PMLP communicate with customers.
CodeRED is an emergency notification system that enables PMLP to notify ratepayers by telephone, text message, and/or email, when emergencies or urgent issues arise. It will also be used for planned events that might affect the power to your home or business, as well as courtesy notifications on outstanding balances.
The same service that sends Amber Alerts is responsible for the CodeRED system. It is reliable, quick, and informative.
Ratepayers who have contact information on file with PMLP are automatically enrolled in the program. Anyone not using a phone capable of receiving text messages, will receive a recorded voice message instead.
To be sure information is correct at PMLP, customers may review their “Account Profile” by selecting the “Pay Your Bill” button on the PMLP’s website, www.pmlp.com. For assistance, email customerservice@pmlp.com, or call customer service at 978-531-5975.
The mass-notification system is another way that PMLP alerts its ratepayers of important system issues. Information will continue to be shared on pmlp.com, Facebook and X. To opt out of the MNS a ratepayer simply texts STOP to 24639.
PMLP is the community-owned, not for profit electric utility serving residents and businesses in Peabody and South Lynnfield.
