Looking for something to do this summer? Perhaps you have company coming by and you want to plan some activities. Did you know that your library card can provide services that extend beyond the building, beyond the town? Consider checking out, and taking advantage of, the Lynnfield Library’s Museum Pass Program.
Through the generosity of the Friends of the Lynnfield Library, we are able to offer a number of passes that waive or reduce admission to local museums and attractions. Each pass is unique in its admission savings, so please check out our museum information on our website or pick up a museum pass brochure during your next visit to the Library.
July is Park and Recreation Month. Our ParksPass offers free parking at over 50 Massachusetts state parks and forests. Get outdoors and try some hiking, biking, rock climbing, swimming, fishing, and more! Check out the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation for a list of the parks. We also have the Trustees of the Reservation GoPass that gives discounts to admission at various Trustees of the Reservation properties including the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.
Learn about different animals at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston or the Stone Zoo in Stoneham. Perhaps you want to adventure to Salem and the Peabody Essex Museum to explore Asian, Native American, and Oceanic art, learn about maritime history and more. Head on down Derby street and check out one of America’s most beloved historic homes, The House of Seven Gables.
Making a trip into Boston? You can explore the art of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum or Museum of Fine Arts. Kids may be excited to check out the Children’s Museum, the Museum of Science, New England Aquarium or the USS Constitution Museum. New for 2024, we now have the Boston Harbor Ferry pass that allows up to 4 people to get discounted tickets to Georges, Spectacle or Peddocks Island.
Any patron with a valid NOBLE library card may reserve a museum pass through the Lynnfield Library. Reservations can be made in person, by phone (781.334.5411), or online 24/7 from the Library website (www.lynnfieldlibrary.org) using your library card and PIN. If you already access your account online you are good to go. Otherwise, stop by the Library or email us at lfdcirc@noblenet.org to request a PIN. Passes are available on a first-come basis and are available up to 60 days in advance, so plan ahead, especially for weekends and around holidays.
Most of our passes are completely digital. They require no pick up at the Library and can be printed from home or accessed through email. A few, such as the Zoo New England and Harvard Museum of Natural History are disposable coupon passes that can be picked up at the Library. The Parks Pass is the one pass that needs to be returned following use.
We hope you will take advantage of our Museum Pass Program this summer. Be sure to check out our website for more information or call us with any questions.
