The Police Department warns residents of an increase of motor vehicle break-ins over the past week.
“Over the past several days we have responded to numerous vehicle break-ins throughout Lynnfield,” Police Chief Nick Secatore said.
In the Lynnfield Police Department police logs from June 28 to July 5, there were reports of eight motor vehicles being broken into over the weekend of June 29 to June 30.
Two of the reports were from Hampton Court, both of which occurred on Saturday June 29, according to the police log.
Of the eight motor vehicle break-ins in the police log, three callers reported that their vehicle was broken into overnight.
According to the department, the vehicles that were broken into were all unlocked and two of the vehicles that were stolen had the keys left inside.
“We would like to remind residents to lock your cars and trucks and take the keys when they are not in use,” Secatore said.
The department encourages residents to call 781-334-3131 to report anything suspicious or make a report.
