The Julie Routhier Foundation presented its first annual Educator Appreciation Awards to Lynnfield Public Schools educators.
The award provides monetary support and recognition to education from LPS to help offset personal out-of-pocket expenses incurred when pursuing additional development in skills, supplies or knowledge that support their work.
The award recipients were, Mr. Puleo from Lynnfield High School, Ms. Weeks from Lynnfield Middle School, Ms. Ross from Summer Street School, and Ms. Quickel from Huckleberry Hill School.
Brad Routhier, Julie’s husband, presented the awards.
“Over the last week I was honored to present four of our wonderful Lynnfield teachers with the inaugural Julie Routhier Educator Award as a token of our appreciation for all they do for our students. Thank you to all who helped make this award possible and I look forward to many more years of helping our teachers,” he said.
The Julie Routhier Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to honor Julie Routhier after she died from cancer in September 2022.
“Julie always made sure her children had the best experiences possible when it came to their educational development,” the website states. “She also wanted to make sure those educators and specialists who are critical to the development of children felt appreciated and known for their hard work and commitment. The continuation of that desire to help others has become the mission of this foundation to honor her memory for years to come.”
