Lynnfield Education Trust announces June 2024 Apple Award recipients

June 12, 2024 by For The Weekly News

The Lynnfield Educational Trust is pleased to announce the names of the June 2024 Apple Award Recipients. They are:

Kristin Hager — Summer Street School
Traci Glynn — Lynnfield Public Preschool
Elizabeth Watts — Lynnfield Public Preschool
Rochelle Cooper — Huckleberry Hill School
Stephen Bloom — Lynnfield Middle School
Becky Pierson — Lynnfield Middle School
Karyn O’Neill — Lynnfield High School
Jill Daley — Lynnfield Middle School, Summer Street School
Kathleen Stevens — Huckleberry Hill School
Jill Juliano (nominated by two separate families) — Summer Street School
John Davison — Lynnfield Middle School
Catherine Silva — Lynnfield High School

LET’s Apple Awards were created to recognize Lynnfield Public Schools staff members who go above and beyond for the students they work with. These individuals are exemplars of the best in education. The letters we received from the families that nominated them noted many fine qualities among the recipients but a shared trait is dedication to, investment in, and enthusiasm for working with students of all ages. We are so lucky to have these individuals in the paths of our children and so grateful for their presence in our district!

The Apple Awards tradition was started many years ago by LET, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 1990 by a group of invested LPS parents looking to support the innovative work of educators in the Town of Lynnfield. Since that time, the group has continued an honored tradition of twice-annual grantmaking along with various fundraising efforts. The current Board is pleased to bring back recognition of the efforts of LPS staff members through the Apple Awards, which will be granted four times per year — and even more pleased to reinvigorate the work of LET in the spirit of its founding mission. The Awards also serve as a small fundraiser for our grant-making efforts.
