BEVERLY — Former Lynnfield High softball standout Chloe Shapleigh, a junior on the Endicott College softball team, has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFC) All-Region Division 3 Region 2 Second Team.
Shapleigh is now eligible for NFCA All-America honors, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 31.
Shapleigh started 34 games for the Gulls, which was third best on the team. She led the team in doubles (10), home runs (8), RBI (28), batting average (.343), on-base percentage (.425), slugging percentage (676), total bases (69) and extra base hits (18). She ranked second in runs scored (23), second in walks (14) and third in at-bats (102). She tallied 10 multiple-hit games and had eight games with multiple RBI.
As of May 20, Shapleigh ranks 61st in the NCAA in home runs.
Defensively, the first baseman ranked second on the team in fielding percentage (.992). In 118 chances, Shapleigh committed just one error.
This is Shapleigh’s second career All-Region award and second postseason honor this spring. Earlier this year she was named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference First Team.
In terms of the CCC, she ranked second in home runs and slugging percentage, third in on-base percentage, eighth in RBI, ninth in total bases, 14th in walks, 15th in doubles, 17th in batting average and 21st in runs scored.
Endicott finished the 2024 season with a 24-14 record and a 13-2 CCC record. The No. 1 seed in the CCC tournament, the Gulls were eliminated by No. 3 seed Nichols College.
