To the editor:
I am writing in support of Brian Charville for School Committee. Serving on the Planning Board with Brian as our chairman for the past couple years has given me the opportunity to benefit from Brian’s leadership and his guidance firsthand.
What’s next? The School Committee needs help and I am thankful Brian is stepping up once again. For those who have not seen Brian in action, I would suggest watching one of the public hearing Planning Board videos and you will see the leadership and thoughtfulness in action: https://vimeo.com/user36270762
My recommendation comes from an interesting perspective, due to the town rules, when Brian gets elected to School Committee he will no longer be allowed to serve as the chairman of the Planning Board. Not to mention Brian has a young family and the commitments of one’s time when elected to these volunteer/elected positions is substantial.
I am confident the schools will benefit from Brian’s participation. While chairing the Planning Board, Brian has proven to be diligent, respectful, a good listener, and unbiased when topics are presented. Brian has been an excellent steward of the Planning Board existing rules/regulations taking advice from the planning staff and guiding the other board members to prepare updates with Lynnfield’s future in mind. These are all virtues that will make him an asset to our community on the School Committee.
There are commonly repeated themes when meeting people in town and asking why they moved to Lynnfield? Good schools, proximity to Boston and Lynnfield’s look and feel are commonly discussed topics. Parents’ concern for their children’s education is the primary reason why Lynnfield is so sought after and Brian’s contribution once elected to the School Committee will protect and improve the schools. I’m voting for Brian and I hope this letter to the editor affords you a glimpse of what I have seen firsthand and you can join me in voting for Brian Charville.
Thank you,
Edward Champy
